About RICTA

Build Your Future

Due to the demand for excellence in construction, the need for a trained workforce in Rhode Island is crucial. RI Construction Training Academy is meeting this need by offering nine career paths in the sophisticated construction industry. Our curriculum has been developed under the auspices of the NCCER * and is approved by the RI Department of Labor. In September of 2021 we started to utilize the Mike Holt Enterprises curriculum in our electrical program.

Classes run September thru April and are two nights a week. Class hours are from 6:00 pm to 9:00 p.m., enabling students to work during the day gaining practical experience. Upon completion of the 144 required hours per year of instruction, the student will have fulfilled the state obligation for classroom education. This education along with the appropriate on the job training qualifies the student for the state test for licensing in their particular trade.

All RI Construction Training Academy instructors are active in the fields they teach. They hold licenses and higher education in their particular field and are familiar with the day to day operations of their trades. Lectures include films, videos, guest speakers, field trips, class discussions and other proven instructional methods such as hands-on.
